I BOUGHT A NEW CAMCORDER DID SOME VIDEO WITH IT UPLOADED TO COMPUTER AND WHEN I PLAYED BACK THE VIDEO OFF THE COMPUTER IT WAS ALL CHOPPY AND FRAMES WERE LOST.AND MY COMPUTER IS A 512 AND I DONT HAVE IT LOADED WITH STUFF.AND ALSO I WANNA LEARN HOW TO CAPTURE VIDEO OFF THE NET.IS THERE ANY VIDEO CAPTURE SERVICES THAT ACTUALLY WORK?

maybe you just played it off the computer and havent captured it yet. in that case, duh, its gonna be choppy. you have to capture it first to make it play smooth.

if you already captured it, you probably used a USB connection. usually video captured using usb and the bundled video capture software that came with your camera are really choppy and of low quality.

get a firewire cable that will fit your camera [if it has a firewire port] and a firewire card [if you dont have one yet]. use software like pinnacle studio or adobe premiere to capture video. its sure to be clear.

i have a 1.8GHz P4 256SDRAM system with HDD’s 3/4 full and yes, videos are very smooth and clear.

AND PLEASE DONT TYPE LIKE THIS BECAUSE ITS CONSIDERED AS SHOUTING AND IS VERY RUDE. pardon me for that.

My husband is a computer engineer and programmer just finishing school and we are going to open a small computer fix it shop and video editing on the island we live on in Maine. I don’t want to be expensive for the people on the island and I know it is a service that is desperately needed.

So my question is how much would you be wiling to pay to have your computer “check up” ( viruses fixes, program clean up, and other things to clean up the computer), Installing software and parts, web site construction and updating( if desired), classes to help people start using their first computer, and video editing ( like home movies, etc) and any other computer needs.

SO how much would you pay, after all if you wont pay it, neither will they!
I know that a lot of this can be done for free, but I live on an island were on one knows how to use computers and we are often told by many people they need our help and they pay us for it. We were not actually the ones to come up with the idea, others asked us to do it.

As for the classes, they are mostly geared tward the elderly that have a computer and they need to know the basics of the basics, like turning it on! and most of them just use it to email there kids.

Zilch. I’d do most of it myself using free programs and such. I dont have a problem paying for anti virus software but i use AVG free for antivirus (www.free.grisoft.com), spyware terminator (google it) and zone alarm free for a firewall (again google it).

Then registry mechanic and ccleaner for cleaning up the PC (regristry mechanic is trialware, u only get some feature, from www.pctools.com and ccleaner is freeware from www.ccleaner.com)

Website construction can be done basically with an old version of serif webplus (www.freeserifsoftware.com) video editing is tricky, i dont know any freeware 4 that and i wouldnt recommend gettng an illegal version of it. Try Adobe Photoshop premier which is good, but quite expensive.

Computer lessons can be done online using google.

Be an open source programmer! Compilers can be got for free and if u share the project with other people then itll take a lot less time and be more rewarding (morally not physically)!

A hosting service that will allow up to 30 minutes of video to be uploaded and also allows viewers to download your video so that they can have a copy for burning?
I will be filming my husbands family reunion and I am too cheap and lazy to make other people copies so I want people to be able to download it and make their own copies.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I really don’t even know when ,or why I downloaded it, but whenever anyone links a video I noticed it gives me the option to " download with realplayer" when I scroll over the embedded screen. It works with you-tube and few porn sites I accidentally stumbled upon.

You can go to youtube and download the HD music videos with Ant video Downloader, the save videos are in mp4 format.

DVDs and CDs can be mailed via Media Mail, but for single items, it is often cheaper to send them first class.

Media mail is for books, music, learning materials. It is very cheap for heavy stuff, but slow. What I do is make sure I put on the address, the Zip+4 and barcode and it cuts a day or 2 off the shipping time.

A single DVD can usually be send cheaper by first class mail, for under $1. Consider it.
