Getting the Perfect Wedding Gift for Your Groom

It is customary for the bride to give the groom a present on the wedding day. The wedding rings the couple exchanges are considered gifts, but several brides opt to present their groom with another present that suits his personality as a mark of respect.

If you do make a decision to honor your groom with a present on your wedding day, it is vital to select an item that he is bound to enjoy, rather than to spend a large amount of money on it. It is also crucial to debate budget limits before buying gifts for each other. A wedding is already a financial strain on most couples and it is important to realise that your love for one another is sufficient and you do not have to exchange gifts on your wedding day if you do not wish to do so.

One marvelous gift idea from the bride to the groom is a homemade photograph album. The bride may want to collect photographs of them as a couple from the day they met until now, and organize them tastefully in a photograph album as a memento of their relationship. Though the groom could have already seen the photographs in the album at one time or anther, preparing them in a new way makes the gift seem new as it lets the groom view the photographs in a refreshing way. This gift concept is ideal if the groom is the sentimental type.

Another preferred gift concept for the bride to give the groom is tickets to a sporting occasion for him and his best mate. This gift proves that you support your groom’s interest and hobbies and are attentive to him. If your groom is a sports fan, he will certainly adore this selfless gift. Any item associated with a particular hobby the groom enjoys is a great idea for a marriage gift for the bride to give to the groom.

Another inventive gift concept for a bride to honor her groom is a short video outlining their relationship together. If the couple used their video recorder, this would enable the bride to edit the video into a concise one, and even set the video with music. This creative present concept gives the groom a lovely way to look into the past and remember the good times the two of you have had together.

You could also fill an MP3 player with the groom’s favourite songs as a gift. This is certain to be appreciated by the person who enjoys gadgets as well as music. It is also noteworthy because the ability to select songs that your groom will enjoy shows how well you really know him.

Although the custom of the bride and groom exchanging gifts on their wedding day is starting to vanish, a lot of couples still wish to respect this custom. Several couples spend so much cash on their wedding and reception that they feel as if they cannot afford the extra cost of purchasing additional gifts. What is important is to note that it is not the cost, but the thought behind the gift.

If the couple is partaking in this wedding practice, it is a good idea that they exchange gifts that sincerely reflect the personality of their spouse.

Top Must Haves From Your Wedding Videographer

So…. You’ve been proposed to huh? Congratulations! Making sure that your wedding day is just as wonderful and gorgeous as you’ve always dreamed can be a challenge. But with lots of planning and organization, its gets done. So what about preserving all these memories that you, for so long, combined together to make such a wonderful day? Why, you get a wedding videographer of course! However, if you choose the wrong Videographer, your day may be less than ideal, and you may not be happy with the video that your Videographer makes for you. So here are some suggestions on how to find the right Videographer for your Wedding day!

First, do you like the Videographers work? Make sure that you look at a rather good collection of the Videographers Videos. Now days Videographers have a lot of there Videos online to watch. See what their style is and if it either fits your style, or if they are able to create a style that personalized for you and your spouse! The videos you will watch will probably symbolize the best of the Videographers work. They usually put their best up online. So, after watching the videos, how does it look? Are they pleasant to look at? And what about the type of cameras they use? Are they brilliant in color and how good is their knowledge in lighting and making sure it looks cinematic? Does the lighting and the color look good to you? Is the Videographers style what you are looking for? Most of my clients are usually looking for a very Hollywood-Cinematic style that is cool but sweet and beautiful at the same time. Make sure your Videographer is capable of this! If you don’t like the Videographers work, there is no need to consider them further.

Second, do you like the Videographers character and mannerisms? Is the Videographer certain of their self and easy going or are they scared and seem awkward? These are very important questions to ask because it will tell you if your Videographers is will to get those awesome crazy shots or if they are just willing to be normal. And who wants normal at their Wedding? No way! You want different, crazy, and beautiful! Make sure your Videographer has the personality to do this! Remember, the Videographer will be with you all day long, interacting with you, and all your family and guests, so you want to make sure they are someone you want around all day! A lot of times Videographers cannot met up with you personally because of the demanding schedules they have. Filming all day on the weekends and then editing all day and night during the week. So make sure you talk to them on the phone before the Wedding day and email them throughout your engagement so you can get a good idea of what they are like. Most people in the Wedding Industry love what they do! So really you shouldn’t find a mean Videographer, but sometimes you never know. So, make sure you at least have a conference call with them.

Third, does your Videographger have the practice and understanding to anticipate all the excellent things that will happen on your wedding day, and the knowledge and experience to deal with the bad things that could happen as well? An experienced videographer will have videoed enough weddings to be able to anticipate and to capture special moments during your Wedding day and the all the very important details that may easily be missed by an unprofessional or inexperienced Wedding Videographer. An experienced Videographer also knows the things that could go wrong at a Wedding and will sometimes be able to foresee and expect them and will also have the knowledge and understanding on how to deal with them, with even sometimes not letting the Bride and Groom as well as the guests even knowing that something went wrong. So that’s very important. Experience.

And lastly, does your videographer offer you the right value? This doesn’t just mean price but value with significance as well. If your Videographer doesn’t have all of the above personality traits or characteristics, it may not matter what their prices are. If the Videographer has everything mentioned above, that’s a big part of the value they offer you. Please make sure your Videographer will provide the most beautiful creative video you’ve ever seen!

And now that you have all this good information to go off of you can now relax and feel confident the love, special moments and important details of your wedding day will be captured in beautiful images for a lifetime of memories. Congratulations once again!

How To Hire The Right Wedding Videographer

It is hard to imagine any special event without a video recording. It is such a popular part of weddings that it is hard to imagine one without a video recording. People love to view videos of themselves and their loved ones. There is not reason not to have a video recording of your wedding.

Some may think that having a video of their wedding would require putting up with the annoyance of being followed by a camera all day long. But having a videographer should be part of the fun. Professional videographers should be able to work around you without inconveniencing you. If you want a low-key fly on the wall kind of videographer, make sure you talk about it during the hiring process.

Ask your recently married friends, and family members to recommend a videographer. If you work with a wedding planner, she should be able to make recommendations for you. You should hire the videographer 6 months to a year prior to the wedding. Experienced videographers get booked early, so make sure you don’t leave this task to the last minute. If your wedding is scheduled for a Saturday during the peak wedding season, you are competing with many brides for the same videographer.

You should meet with at least three videographers. Don’t hire the first one, even if you don’t think you can find a better person for the job. Give yourself a chance to meet with multiple professionals before you make a decision. Ask for sample work to make sure you like the style of the videographer. You can watch for camera movement, background music, lighting, and get an overall feel for what to expect from the videographer.

Ask for references. References should be checked, always. Call and ask about professionalism, timeliness, customer service, or everything that is important to you.

Once you have made a decision about who to hire, make sure to get all the details in writing. A written contract is important, and it protects both parties. Make sure the date and time, location, what exactly included, and such essential information is part of the contract. Request a spare camera, you don’t want equipment malfunction to derail video recording.

How to Choose your Wedding Videographer

Your dream wedding takes months of planning and lots of hard work. You’ve painstakingly researched every detail to make your wedding day perfect. When the day is over you want to see and hear the joy and excitement all over again. A quality wedding video will allow you to re-live those emotional moments again and again. Magical moments for generations to come!

Therefore you want someone you can trust to do a professional job, but need some help finding the right video production company. Lets outline some of the most important tips in finding the perfect wedding videographer for your needs.

THE BUDGET

Costs for wedding videography vary greatly. Many new add-on items like “Love Stories,” Childhood Photo Montages,” rehearsal dinner coverage, dvd creation, and large screen presentations all add to the overall costs. Narrowing down the things that mean most to you will help before you get started.

VIDEO COVERAGE

Some videographers give unlimited time while others have packages with a certain number of hours built in.

One hour minimum of pre-ceremony coverage is needed to capture the best pre-ceremony shots. This can be some of the best video coverage of the whole day.

Three full hours of reception time should be sufficient to capture most of the major events during the reception. This should give you a good idea of the total time your videographer will need to cover the important events of the day.

VIDEO & AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Most perspective brides have no idea what type of professional equipment a videographer will use, so all you can go by is your own eyes and ears. See at least two or three samples of their work. Many web sites have streaming samples that will give you an idea of that company’s style and artistic flow. Video quality can be harder to see due to the inherent compromises compression puts on a streaming video via the web. Closer examination of their work can only be seen in person. This gives the added benefit of meeting your videographer and seeing how attentive they are to your needs. Remember they will be representing you at the wedding!

VIDEO AND AUDIO QUALITY

I believe that video quality starts with acquisition. The camera and audio gear used by wedding professionals varies greatly as well. Therein lies some major cost differences between video companies. Some lenses cost as much as some professional cameras. “High-end” videographers use the best gear money can buy. Great sound quality can only be achieved through expensive audio support gear and proper preparation. Trust your own ears when viewing demo samples and compare to any great movie or television show. This is an often over-looked feature, even by professionals. Great audio is crucial to the overall production. While listening to sample clips, pay attention to how clear the vows, music, readers, and minister’s voices sound. A good videographer may even run a remote feed back to his camera directly out of the DJ or band’s sound board. Ambient audio can then be mixed in during editing for an even better sound mix. After all, with home theatres becoming more common, your wedding movie could rival anything seen on TV today!

FLOW, CONTENT, AND EMOTION

Editing is not just deciding what stays in and what goes out of your wedding video. Editing can emphasize all the emotions and create a visual and audio experience that will captivate. Great movies are edited for film and editors win academy awards. The same is true of your videographer. Did you cry watching someone elses wedding video during the demo appointment? Video is an emotional experience that is enhanced by subtle editing techniques. Many hours of time will go into your wedding video. For those who just want raw footage, with no audio “sweetening”, slow motion, music, and opening or closing/recap montages, maybe your videographer will adjust his price for you. However, this can take out a lot of the “magic” editing can bring to your wedding movie!

INTERVIEWS

Even though your videographer should be as unobtrusive as possible, please point out it may be your wish not to put any of your guests on the spot for interviews. Discuss who is important, and who should be interviewed. Ask the videographer how he approaches people for an interview.

PERSONALITY

Personality is important so you get along well with your videographer. How well does the videographer listen to you? Your videographer should be flexible on what you would like. Ask as many questions that pop into your head and observe the way they answer your questions. I often watch bridal chat forums to hear how sweet their photographer or videographer was. This is important and shows they care about you.

STYLE

Styles also vary, but a really good videographer can deliver many different styles. Just like photographers using the “photojournalistic” approach as opposed to the traditional and formal posed shots, videographers can offer their own style of documentary as well. Many videographers offer the “short edit”, which is either on add-on or part of their package. Please ask how long the typical edited video might be for your wedding. An eight hour wedding day could be condensed to a 35 – 45 minute total program with the “short edit” concept.

REPUTATION

Reputations for professionals are built and earned. The good ones usually have a long track record in their field of work. Quality control over many years will make or break most companies. Again, this is where the cost factor definitely comes to play as an expensive wedding video production company can targetr their talents towards a more discriminating audience, albeit smaller. These companies may demand a premium, but will more than likely provide more than what you expected. These higher-end videographers do far less wedding videos per year, but demand a higher price. If they were not in demand they would go out of business.

What’s a good website that has popular licensed music for wedding video productions?

I’m a wedding videographer and my brides are wanting me to use popular songs they hear from the radio in their wedding video. I’m aware that using this type of music is illegal, so where can I buy these songs so I can use them legally?

You’re gonna have a hard time getting that music legally unless you’re willing to fork out a ton of cash on the license. I know some wedding guys who are just buying their music from iTunes and using it, but the record companies are starting to crack down on that and the lawsuits are flying.
The closest thing to a solution that I’ve found is a site called "songfreedom.com" that claims they’ll have a library of popular music for wedding professionals. I don’t know what that will mean though. The site still isn’t up yet, but it might be worth looking into once it is. People I’ve talked to seem to think it could be a big deal when it happens, so we’ll see.
Other than that, I guess we’ll keep using our piano music, haha.

My brother ruined my wedding video by bringing his crying toddler and not taking him outside to calm down, now?

my brother is getting married in a few weeks. Should I bring a crying toddler to his wedding?
He also made a sarcastic remark on my wedding video( being an a$$hole). Should I do the same at his wedding?

Maybe the remark but not the cry toddler. That could create some issues in ur family that could be hard to forgive. It all depends on how forgiving you are and his fiance. Dont wanna get on her bad side right away lol
