I downloaded a 30 day trial of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 thinking that might help, but I think I’m in over my head. I would just like to isolate, remove (or lower) the audio for the waterfall, or isolate and increase the audio for our voices. Any ideas? Any professional services that anyone offers?

You won’t be able to do it with the trial version. You’ll need the full version which may run you upwards of $475.

are there any pros out there that would know how much I should charge for a basic wedding video?

This is my friend’s business. He started at the age of 15 (yes, 15) and does everything in HD recording and extremely high quality. He gets SO many requests per year he books over a year in advance.

So make your product excellent and your prices about like his and you will do spectacular!

He charges 829 for 6 hours of live video, editing, and a few consultations before the event with the couple to get a feel for what they desire.

Now he has branched out from wedding videos and does corporate videos for resorts. He vacations free in the Caribbean all summer (spends each week at a different place) in exchange for a video he captures and makes for the resort. That’s also something to think about once you have some experience under your belt!

I am trying to find out fair prices to charge clients, anything from basic packages to premium packages. I already have a set price for a full day (Very first thing in the morning until last thing at night) but feel I am getting ripped off.

Try asking some film and photography students at your local college if they’d be interested. They have easy access to all the best editing equipment.

You might get a better deal.

My videographer says that he needs 4-6weeks. Is this usually the case?

Yes it is. We waited about 6-8 weeks for ours.

I have a 2 hour wedding video around 1gb which is in an mp4 format, is there a hosting company in the UK that i can pay to get this online?

oh wow, that’s pretty huge file. i think you’d have to divide it in parts, since youtube takes in 10minute videos max. try google videos.
if there’s problem with the format, convert it to a lower-quality video, it helps tremendously. ive been using imtoo mp4 video converter so i can upload them to youtube. hope this helps.

I need a song for a video that I am putting together for my reception. The video contains photos of me and my fiance from childhood to now. I have Rascal Flatts (god bless the broken road)….Now I need another.???

i have a cousin who is going to have a video montage with pics and songs at her wedding reception…she wants some suggestions…she’d like to do a dedication for friends and family who’ve been there to support, a dedication to those who have past…i’ve gotten a ton of songs for her other sections except for those two,,,any help with appropriate songs and some songs you might not think of right away would be good too:)

On the movie ‘Love Actually’ theres the song ‘All you need is love’ but it’s done with a choir and by a different singer. My husband’s a videographer and he put it to a wedding video and it’s absolutly PERFECT. We also played it at our wedding when the preacher said ‘you may kiss the bride’. It really is a perfect wedding song… Come to think of it, in the movie, they played it at a wedding too! I love it, and I’m sure you will too! Good luck! Congratulations to your cousin!

Usually 2-4 tapes (2 hours on average) of footage. I use my own computer at my home and it takes about 12-14 hours. The final product is on an authored DVD. Currently I get $100. Am I being low balled?

I agree with the other answer. You should be getting paid almost double. Seems like you are being low balled. I would definitely consider adjusting your prices. People WILL pay for video of their wedding…jack those prices up!

I’m very curious as to what my boyfriends ex wife looks like. He told me he threw away all her pictures but he’s got his wedding video. He said only reason he kept it was because he has family on it who died. Anyway he showed his ex girlfriend the video but she made a stupid comment. I’ve asked to see it but he seems reluctant to show me. Why do you think this is?

nobody likes rejection of their family photos. Just forget about it.
