How much would you pay for computer and video editing services?

My husband is a computer engineer and programmer just finishing school and we are going to open a small computer fix it shop and video editing on the island we live on in Maine. I don’t want to be expensive for the people on the island and I know it is a service that is desperately needed.

So my question is how much would you be wiling to pay to have your computer “check up” ( viruses fixes, program clean up, and other things to clean up the computer), Installing software and parts, web site construction and updating( if desired), classes to help people start using their first computer, and video editing ( like home movies, etc) and any other computer needs.

SO how much would you pay, after all if you wont pay it, neither will they!
I know that a lot of this can be done for free, but I live on an island were on one knows how to use computers and we are often told by many people they need our help and they pay us for it. We were not actually the ones to come up with the idea, others asked us to do it.

As for the classes, they are mostly geared tward the elderly that have a computer and they need to know the basics of the basics, like turning it on! and most of them just use it to email there kids.

Zilch. I’d do most of it myself using free programs and such. I dont have a problem paying for anti virus software but i use AVG free for antivirus (www.free.grisoft.com), spyware terminator (google it) and zone alarm free for a firewall (again google it).

Then registry mechanic and ccleaner for cleaning up the PC (regristry mechanic is trialware, u only get some feature, from www.pctools.com and ccleaner is freeware from www.ccleaner.com)

Website construction can be done basically with an old version of serif webplus (www.freeserifsoftware.com) video editing is tricky, i dont know any freeware 4 that and i wouldnt recommend gettng an illegal version of it. Try Adobe Photoshop premier which is good, but quite expensive.

Computer lessons can be done online using google.

Be an open source programmer! Compilers can be got for free and if u share the project with other people then itll take a lot less time and be more rewarding (morally not physically)!
